Tafawa Balewa House Museum

The Tafawa Balewa Museum in Bauchi city is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa - Nigeria's first and only Prime Minister, a Bauchi native whose assassination in the coup of January 1966 marked the end of Nigeria's first democratic republic and the beginning of decades of turbulence.
